I think whats lacking here is events in the song. you should have a kinda breakdown somewhere in there and kinda build it up at some point to a climax.

The song has a cool sound. Reminds me of NIN.

yeah this song need to loosen up a bit. The midi drums are a but too ridged. You know.... Most music production software allows you to de-quantize your MIDI notes or what they sometimes call "Humanize." Funny how you use a computer to make something sound more natural. :-P

This is not a bad song by any means at all. Like I said before, you need to add some more dynamic into your drums. they sound like they are mostly all at the same velocity which is something you can go in and change easily.

I wouldnt quite call this a hip hop beat....

dblue is a plugin for your musical application that allows you to completely deconstruct and fuck up your audio. Is mainly used on drums to make them glitchy but can give very good effects to other instruments as well. It's free-- if you want it just google <download dblue glitch>
